Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders undertaking a postgraduate psychology degree

The Bendi Lango initiative was established in 2006 with the aim of increasing the number of psychologists of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and facilitating their contribution to the health and wellbeing of Indigenous communities, as well as the wider community and the psychology profession.

Donations from APS members since 2011 raised $30,000 for the APS Bendi Lango initiative.

With your support, the APS aims to continue this important initiative for many years to come.

Since the launch of the Bendi Lango initiative, seven students have been supported in their postgraduate psychology studies.

You are invited to contribute a deductible gift/donation to the APS Bendi Lango initiative which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are undertaking a postgraduate psychology degree and can demonstrate financial need.

To contribute to The Australian Psychological Society Fund for the Financial Assistance of People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Descent (ABN - 61 128 721 459), please complete the deductible gift/donation section of your APS membership renewal. Gifts/donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible (please keep a copy of this form for your tax records).

Your support for this important initiative is much appreciated and assists the APS to fulfil its commitment to enhancing the social and emotional wellbeing and mental health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
