The Department of Health (formerly the Department of Health and Ageing) engaged the APS to undertake the establishment of a National Clinical Support Service (the NCS Service) to support mental health professionals delivering services under the ATAPS Suicide Prevention Service and the ATAPS Child Mental Health Service. This included providing:

  • telephone and email support;
  • peer-networking webinars;
  • tools and resources; and
  • a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process for both courses.

As of the 1 July 2015, the NCS Service will no longer be available to ATAPS mental health clinicians. ATAPS providers may still access the existing tools and resources including recordings of previous webinars from the ATAPS Clinical Support Service Webportal. For debriefing and clinical advice, ATAPS providers should contact their own professional membership bodies to access any member services that may be available to them for these purposes, as well as seek individual supervision.
