The Mindful Journey: Love and Letting Go
|Presenters||Dr James Bramson D. Psy, San Francisco, California|
|Description||Each of Dr Bramson's workshops emphasises the latest research, theory and clinical applications of mindfulness practice, including what Daniel Siegel MD refers to as the Triangle of Wellbeing - how the mind, body and relationship fields can mutually influence each other
In this workshop Dr Bramson aims to help health professionals integrate mindful awareness with heartfulness to help themselves and their clients to work to transform existing relationships, accept relationships that have ended or changed, and optimise periods of being alone or unattached.
Both relevant theory and practice will be utilised to help explore self-compassion, forgiveness, and letting go. The workshop will also facilitate an examination of the impacts of fear, avoidance, thought fusion, attachment, loss and intimacy on brain structure and neurochemical changes which integrate with brain health, somatic awareness and emotional and cognitive functioning within relationships.
Dr Bramson will specifically focus on how therapists can apply Imago techniques, the Internal Family System ((IFS) model, grief literature, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the therapeutic process.
