Everyone is Looking at Me: Social Anxiety and its Treatment
|Description||Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for a plethora of psychological symptoms, one of the most disabling of these being social anxiety.
Social anxiety has one of the biggest impacts on our daily life because our life is largely made up of..dealing with people! Social anxiety exists not only in social situations, but also in work environments, shopping, exercising and even going to the hairdressers. These apparently simple tasks can appear mountainous tests of endurance if social anxiety is present.
There are ways to manage this potentially life limiting disorder. A combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness and Exposure therapy can make a difference. You may never WANT to take a banana on a lead for a walk, but it's really empowering if you know you can.
