Psychotherapeutic Encounter: Addiction

Format Workshop
Presenters Dr Jacqui Dodds, MAASW
Description Here insight is developed through particular practices to cultivate a mindful listening space, to move from mental attachments and cravings and their associated projections to a space of freedom where one can be fully present in the present moment. The client therapist encounter and issues of transference and counter-transference are also explored within the Buddhist framework with a focus on working with addictive behaviours.
About the presenter(s) Dr Jacqui Dodds has a solid background in Buddhist teachings, Psychotherapy, Meditation, Palliative Care and Work with Cancer Patients, as well as counselling both privately and within a Western Australian Community Mental Health team.
