| Description | Welcome to the APS College of Clinical Psychologists upcoming dinner series on the Sunshine Coast in November 2012. This will be an informal presentation for 30-45 minutes followed by 15-20 minutes of questions. This dinner presentation will be an excellent networking opportunity to chat with the presenter and colleagues in a small and relaxed dinner setting. |
| About the presenter(s) | Professor Mary Katsikitis is the inaugural Professor of Psychology, and the Associate Dean (International and Engagement) for the Faculty of Arts and Business, at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). She was instrumental in the establishment of both an accredited undergraduate and postgraduate professional (Master of Psychology (Clinical) program and, a Psychology Clinic, which offers psychological services to the Sunshine Coast community free of charge. Professor Mary Katsikitis spent many years in a clinical / health environment during her appointment with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Adelaide. Mary was also Manager for Science and Education at the Australian Psychological Society (APS) managing accreditation and professional development processes for the members. She is a member of the Program Development and Accreditation Committee for the APS and also currently holds the position of National Course Approvals Chair for the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is also a member of the Accreditation Working Committee for the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Mary is also a member of the APS College of Health Psychologists. With Mary's recent grant funding her research has focused on using web-based media to deliver positive interventions, measuring their effect on adolescent and adult mental health. |
