| Presenters | Jay Gunkelman, EEG Diplomate. Prof M Barry Sterman, PhD, UCLA (guest live web presentation) |
| Description | Day 1 will review EEG in depth, and is recommended for people who want to gain an understanding of the usefulness of EEG in the assessment and treatment of mental disorders. Topics include: 1. Steady state EEG assessment 2. ERP assessment 3. Using EEG analysis for diagnostics 4. EEG changes resulting from prescription medications 5. EEG changes resulting from substance abuse 6. EEG and neurofeedback. Day 2: Analysis of EEG - generators of EEG, artifacts, transients. Practical work in EEG analysis, introducing the WinEEG (Mitsar) system. Day 3: Further EEG and analysis - failure modes in the EEG or phenotypes. Practical work in EEG and QEEG analysis. Guest live web presentation by Professor Barry Sterman, UCLA Day 4: Review of EEG for diagnostics and intervention, medical and biofeedback. Participants can submit EEGs of their clients for analysis. (Although WinEEG will be used for processing, any recording device can be used including Brainmaster's Discovery, Deymed or Mitsar. Files should be in .edf or Lexicor .dat format.) More on Event Related Potentials. |
