| Description | The brief AGM will be followed by Felicity Allen presenting on "Health Psychology and Behaviour Change in Australia: the challenge". Dinner and party to follow. |
| About the presenter(s) | Felicity Allen is an adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University and works privately a consultant. Having recently completed a second book on health psychology in Australia, Felicity is interested in both health psychology and equal opportunity policy and strategy. Some of her research, for example, developing a scale to allocate resources to handicapped children and a recent evaluation of the needs of people with disabilities in Victoria, combines both areas of interest. In many instances her research has involved data gathering and analysis techniques appropriate to large scale social evaluation. Particular strengths are the use of multivariate statistics and a thorough understanding of epidemiological data. Felicity has a strong commitment to empirical research on various aspects of preventive health and promoting positive health behaviours (eg. exercise). She has considerable experience in manipulating large data bases while evaluating the intervention strategies of major public and private sector employers and service providers. Felicity has written three books and co-authored two novels, 34 refereed journal articles, 8 book chapters, 15 monographs, 10 commercial reports and presented at 25 conferences. She is the Chair of the Melbourne Branch of the Australian Psychological Society |
