Core Concepts in Couple Counselling
Format Training Course
Description While reference will be made to emotion focused, solution focused and narrative approaches to relationship counselling, the central focus will be on the common factors behind all approaches. We develop strategies to help couples stuck in negative interaction cycles. Emphasis will be given to shifting the moment by moment interaction between couples, leading to acceptance, understanding and a redevelopment of care.

The course includes theory presentation, role play demonstrations, group discussion, DVD examples, power point handouts and key articles.

The program is run on a Tuesday morning (9.30-12.30) in two parts. The cost is is $360 for both parts, or $660 for the full program.
About the presenter(s) Rosalie Pattenden is a Counselling Psychologist, with over thirty years experience in relationship counselling. She has held senior clinical management positions with Relationships Australia and other organisations.

Ray Hawkes is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over thirty years experience in couple work. He has held senior positions at the Bouverie Centre, Relationships Australia and the Cairnmillar Institute.
