Steps to a Mindful Therapist
|Presenters||Rosalie Pattenden and Ray Hawkes|
|Description||This course explores the new paradigm in couple work, one that emphasises moment by moment mindfulness, nonverbal resonance, therapist and client selves and the larger Self. The implications for the therapist self will be explored. Drawing on the results of neurobiology and various somatic therapies, the focus will be on the mindful couple therapist, with experiential components designed to develop and assist therapist sensitivity, compassion and equanimity. This program is practically and experientially focused. Some self exploration will be involved.
Current work from Dan and Ronald Siegel, Pat Ogden, Janina Fisher, Diana Fosha, Christopher Germer, Stephen Gilligan and Richard Schwartz will be discussed.
This is an advanced course, and requires current relationship counselling experience and completion of our Core Concepts program or equivalent.
