Fundamentals of Play Therapy
|Description||This program aims to skill trained professionals on the basic components of play therapy, particularly Virginia Axeline's non directive play therapy. The course is designed to cover both theoretical and practical aspects of play therapy and involves experiential components, readings, power point presentations and group discussions, discussions of projects.
Participants will undergo a play therapy project. They will also be able to refine their skills in working with children,
This program will explore issues such as the role of child observation, suitability for play therapy, the use of language in work with children, transference, counter-transference and resistance, and have an opportunity to present cases.
|About the presenter(s)||Robert Takac is a child and counselling psychologist with over twenty years experience. He works both in public and private practice providing therapy to children, adults, and families. Robert is a highly regarded trainer and provides workshops in a range of areas, particularly related to clinical work with children. Robert offers professional training and clinical supervision in nondirective play therapy. Robert also provides individual and group supervision and consultation to psychologists and other professionals.|
