| Description | The aim of this two day workshop is to assist participants in developing a greater awareness of the prevalence of suicide in the community, to gain knowledge and skills in identifying, assessing and applying interventions to support individuals and groups at risk of suicide. By the end of the workshops participants will have: An understanding of the prevalence of suicide in the wider community An opportunity to explore their experience with and attitudes about suicide Identified individuals at risk of suicide as well as the link between suicide and mental health A knowledge of a framework for risk assessment Developed interventional skills Gained knowledge of community resources Developed and explored prevention strategies Explored and discussed staff self-care strategies |
| About the presenter(s) | Peter Gibbons is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked for Anglicare WA for 20+ years, he also currently works in private practice. Peter has extensive experience with many types of client issues and is especially versed in trauma work and personality disorders, as well as family and domestic violence. |
