| Description | BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! THIS GROUP WILL FILL QUICKLY! Interested in happiness, wellbeing and positive mental health? Want to learn more about what the science of wellbeing - positive psychology - tells us about human flourishing? This workshop will: (a) provide an introduction to some of the key findings from wellbeing science, and (b) demonstrate ways to integrate this research and practice into your own life and professional practice. The workshop is a mix of theory, research and applied skills delivered in an interactive and engaging format. We will cover topics such as: - what is positive psychology and wellbeing? - the role of positive emotions - gratitude - savouring - strengths - values - ikigai (purpose in life) Learn about the science and art of flourishing in life, not just how to survive. |
| About the presenter(s) | Dr Jo Mitchell is a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in wellbeing science. She has an active interest in positive psychology, ACT and mindfulness. She incorporates evidence based psychological strategies to help create flourishing lives. Jo has a passion for integrating technology, innovation and play into applied psychology. Jo is a psychology consultant to the AFL Players Association; and currently lectures in ACT, positive psychology and mindfulness at Swinburne and Monash Universities. |
