Following the success of 2014 Professional Practice Forum, we will once more be hosting a forum to keep ahead of news and developments in the field of psychology. Areas to be addressed including a summary of developments from the Australian Psychological Society (APS), highlights of issues facing psychologists today, discussion of the Gold Coast Primary Health networks, updates on Medicare.
Upon completion of this conference, participants will:
- know updated details on polices in a number of domains - Medicare, APS, local services, GCPHN
- know how local schemes and services fit with their current practice
- know about procedures for managing common questions relating to clinical practice
- understand the role of various agencies and how to connect with such agencies if they need to
About the presenter(s)
APS National Office - Professor Lyn Littlefield, OAM, FAPS, MCCLP, MCCOMP, MCCOUNP - she will be presenting a summary of APS activities - highlighting issues facing psychologists and the field of psychology
Psychology Board of Australia - Professor Robert Schweitzer, MAPS, MCCLP, MCCOUN - he will presenting on matters relating to complaints, practitioner health issues (impairment) and the processes for managing practitioner misconduct.
Gold Coast Primary Health Network - representative discussing who they are, what they do, and their relevance to psychologists
Medicare - representative - discussing policies and regulations regarding payments
Social Worker - Ms Andrea Mills - discussing services that patients and psychologists can access on the Gold Coast
