Agile meets Organisational Psychology

Event number: 19211
7 CPD hours
Workshop
Presenter(s): Eric Jansen and Gina McCredie

You've probably heard about 'Agile' - it's a fast-paced, high-energy, iterative approach to working differently that many organisations are adopting to cope with their changing, disruptive and highly complex world. With its origins in software development, agile work designs and practices are different to those of traditional workplacs.

At this workshhop we will explore what Agile is all about, as well as how Agile approaches are changing the way organisations, teams and individuals work. We'll discuss what Organisational Psychologists can do to enhance Agile work environments and support people that are working in them to be high performing. It's a collaborative opportunity to connect our strong research knowledge about psychology at work with the more recent Agile practices.

  • An introduction to the philosophy behind the Agile mindset
  • Practice exposure to Agile planning, prioritisation, kanban and reporting
  • Insights into the intersection of Agile and orgasnisational psychology
  • Overview of the take-up of Agile and the change journeys involved
  • Tools to assist with planning, and then measuring the progress of complex programs of work.
