Presenter(s): Dr Leslie Pollock (EDDP Director), Rachel McGloin (Team Leader) & Virginia Ross (Clinical Psychologist).

Another event in the informative series of APS network nights, hosted at different Psychology workplaces around the Newcastle and Hunter region.

Each Networking Night will allow professionals from around the region to gain a better insight into how different workplaces operate, as well as providing a forum to network with fellow APS members in a relaxed environment. We are thrilled to announce that our first Networking event for 2018 will be hosted by staff at the Centre for Psychotherapy, James Fletcher Hospital,Newcastle.

The Centre for Psychotherapy is a specialist therapy centre providing comprehensive treatments for Borderline Personality Disorder and for Eating Disorders. Treatments offered are Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Conversational Model Therapy and for eating disorders: CBT-E.

The Eating Disorder Day Program opened in 2015 and is co-located with the Centre for Psychotherapy. The program is informed by CBT-E principles and includes meal support to encourage regular, healthy eating, education and skills development. Clients attend the group program four-days per week for a minimum of four weeks and up to twelve weeks. This intensive treatment option is provided as an adjunct to outpatient therapy clients may b receiving through public or private sectors. The EDDP is very interested in building collaborative relationships with psychologists treating eating disorders in the community.

Both the CfP and the EDDP are services of Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Services.

You are warmly invited to have a tour of the facilities, network with your psychology colleagues and learn more about both of these important services.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this presentation participants will have developed an understanding of the programs and treatments offered at the Centre for Psychotherapy and increased their awareness of opportunities for collaboration.
