Clinical Case Formulation Master Class

Event number: 19291
3.5 CPD hours
Presenter(s): Dr Lisa Chantler

Case Formulation is central to clinical psychology practice but there is little training apart from that provided at the university level to update and tweek our skills. Moreover, some of us were trained prior to the seminar work of Padesky and Kuyken and were not formally trained in this area. This masterclass will provide and overview of current thinking on case formulation and will provide summaries of CBT and Schema Therapy specific formulations for the high prevalence Disorders. There will be opportunity within the seminar for practicing formulating clients based on case vignettes. In addition, registrants will be encouraged to share their difficult clients in preparation for the seminar to provide authentic experiences of formulating difficult clients.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understanding of the Basic Tenets of Clinical Case Formulation

2. Skills in undertaking Formulations “on the run”.

3. To be able to integrate Disorder specific and individual formulations.
