| Description | This is the original 3-day program that provides a refresher for experienced practitioners and an introduction for those new to career counselling, coaching and assessment. The course introduces leading edge international research on career development including Prof. Bright's Chaos Theory of Careers (Routledge, 2011) as a framework to understand career development in a complex and changing environment. The courses covers career development theory (from a presenter who is adding to and shaping theory) as well as coaching techniques, job search and resume preparation from an evidence base and counselling technique. Participants are also trained in the use of two psychometrically robust career development tools - an interests inventory and a work rewards inventory.?Recipients receive extensive resources including a 300 page workbook of notes, 2 complete vocational tests with materials and manuals to use immediately with clients and several books. This package is worth over $600. The course not only provides PD hours, but can also articulate into the Postgraduate Certificate in Career Development taught at ACU Fitzroy (Melbourne) and ACU Strathfield (Sydney). The ACU course is endorsed by the Careers Industry Council of Australia (CICA) as meeting minimum professional requirements for entry in the Careers Industry. Currently it is the only such course based in Sydney and Melbourne with this endorsement.?Completion of the 3-day course provides 25% RPL against the PG Cert. A further 25% RPL may be available to suitably experienced and/or qualified participants. |
