OCTOBER Gift of Therapy Seminar
|Presenters||Dr Bill Saunders & Dr Dhyan Stein|
|Description||In 2001 Irvin Yalom published his best-selling book, "The Gift of Therapy", carrying the subtitle, "An open letter to a new generation of therapists and their patients". This tour de force of clinical wisdom became an instant success, largely because of the rare and much needed 'practice-based evidence' that it provided, and Yalom's commitment to an honest exploration of what psychotherapy is, and what makes it work.
Inspired by this masterwork, our Gift of Therapy Seminar Series will explore the life and work of seven experienced and dynamic psyhotherapists. Interviewed by Dr William Saunders, our guests will share with us their very personal views about their professional wisdom. How has their own life influenced their clinical work and what have they learned from a life spent in therapy - about their patients, about themselves and about the human condition? What are for them the very essentials of effective therapy? In their opinion, what makes a therapist great?
Designed to further develop the core therapeutic skills of therapists new and experienced, these 'practice-based evidence' interactive CPD events should not be missed.
Join us every last Tuesday evening of the month to reflect, be informed and be inspired. Then enjoy the opportunity for wine, cheese and chat following each seminar.
This month Dr William Saunders will interview Dr Dhyan Stein on her life spent in therapy.
