Hypnosis and Sexual Health: Integrating Sexual Counselling Within an Ericksonian Hypnosis Framework

This workshop will focus upon developing clinician skills when working with clients in the areas of building relationship quality, negotiation and communication skills as well as sexual functioning.
This workshop will also provide an up-to-date range of practical intervention strategies to assist this client group and provide an integrated model of care, suitable for those with relationship and sexual functioning concerns.
A particular focus of the workshop will be information on how to integrate hypnosis into the sexual health counselling framework for those with issues in relationship and sexual functioning, teaching clients how to enhance their relationship and sexual satisfaction within their partnership.
As a part of this workshop, participants will be able to develop their knowledge and skills when working with clients in this area. The training will be supplemented with a range of teaching aids and live clinical demonstrations of this work in action.
0900-1030 Introduction to sex therapy and hypnosis
1100-1230 Identifying appropriate use of trance for individuals and couples (incl demonstration)
1330-1500 Script development and interpersonal factors to be considered

At the end of this workshop, participants will:
? Have a basic working knowledge of sex therapy and specific hypnotic applications;
?Be able to identify the best hypnotic interventions for specific issues in sexual health counselling;
?Be able to implement trance-based interventions as they relate to sexual health;
?Be aware of a range of hypnotic scripts and learn how to construct their own hypnotic scripts to be used with clients with sexual health issues;
?Learn Ericksonian-based direct and indirect hypnotic interventions with sexual health issues;
?Be aware of communication issues within sexual health counselling and how to use trance to assist with improving communication styles; and
?Learn about the importance of trance as a part of scripts and how these relate to couples.

|Notes||About the Presenter Tonya Gabriel-Brennagh, BA, Grad Dip Psych, M Analytical Psych, M Health Sc, Dip Clin Hyp, MAPS Tonya is a health psychologist, hypnotherapist, family therapist, family law mediator and sex therapist in private practice in Frankston. She has extensive experience in counselling in a range of settings and is an experienced presenter, providing extensive training at TAFE, University and Griefline and is a sort-after speaker at conferences and workshops. Tonya has been a trainer and a supervisor with the Australian Society of Hypnosis for 20 years, delivering training in CBT and its applications with hypnosis; the use of hypnosis in behaviour change; and as an adjunct therapy with anxiety and depression, She has delivered training on nuances, hypnosis and metaphors to name a few and has a specialty in delivering training on relationships and sexuality.
