The Children's Peace Literature Award encourages the dissemination of information related to peaceful means of resolving conflict and promoting peace at the global, local and interpersonal level.
The Award is the responsibility of the Psychologists for Peace Interest Group.
The South Australian Group of Psychologists for Peace will have primary responsibility for raising the funds for the Award.
The Chair of the South Australian Group of Psychologists for Peace will appoint a coordinator for the Award and a selection committee of at least four members, comprising both members of the Society and experts on children‟s literature to be responsible for recommending an appropriate recipient to the Board.
The selection committee will have the discretion to recommend that the Award be divided between up to three (3) recipients, which they consider to be of merit.
A short list of nominees will be announced usually by late September/early October.
The award will be presented at a public meeting in October/November, and will be announced in InPsych.
Nominees need not be members of the Society.
