Call for Expressions of Interest – Ethics Committee of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of The Australian Psychological Society Limited is seeking Expressions of Interest from Members of the Society interested in participating as members of the Ethics Committee to the Board commencing effective April 2010.

Closing date: 5pm Wednesday, 12 March 2010

The Board establishes specialist committees from time to time to delegate certain powers and responsibilities to those committees. The powers exercised by such committees are deemed to have been exercised by the Board and the final recommendations of such committees are reviewed and confirmed, varied or set aside by the Board. Delegated powers must be exercised in accordance with the directions of the Board and the activities of such committees are reported to the Board on a regular basis.

The primary objective of the Ethics Committee is to assist the Board to discharge its responsibilities in particular with regard to the requirements of Clause 91 of the Constitution, ensuring that Members of the Society achieve and maintain ethical conduct at the highest professional level. The Ethics Committee operates within specific rules of procedure adopted by the Board.
