Postgraduate scholarships

Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH), are pleased to announce the opening of the following Scholarships Round for 2012. Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, these scholarships support Allied Health Professionals that provide a clinical service within Australia. Visit the home pages of each scholarship for specific information about eligible professions, selection criteria, rural and remote status, the application process and the scholarship guidelines. The applications close on 31 October 2011.

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait allied health professionals are encouraged. These scholarships provide practical support at the health service delivery level.

Postgraduate Scholarship – Enhancing the skills and knowledge of allied health professionals who provide a clinical service within Australia. Study at the graduate certificate, graduate diploma and masters level is eligible. There will be one PhD Scholarship offered in 2012. The Scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year for full time study for a maximum of 2 years. Payments are made once per semester. The scholarship is offered once per calendar year. Continuing Professional Development Scholarship – Supporting practicing allied health professions to attend continuing professional development activities such as short courses and conferences to enhance their professional practice. Clinical Psychology Scholarship Clinical Psychology Scholarship – Assisting eligible applicants gain a qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australian as a clinical psychologist. This scholarship is limited to those who have secured candidature in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) course at the Masters or Professional Doctorate level in the area of Clinical Psychology.
